During January, the Jabodetabek region repeatedly experienced periods of fresh air and blue skies. Compared to 2023, the air quality at the beginning of this year was noted to have fluctuated.

The wind speed at the beginning of 2024 decreased by up to twice as much compared to 2023. This situation strengthened the observed increase in local pollution at the beginning of 2024.

In 2024, clear weather with clean air was influenced by strong winds reaching up to 8 m/s from January 16th to 23rd, 2024, caused by the Tropical Cyclone Anggrek. However, air pollution rose again unstably as the cyclone moved away towards the end of January 2024.

The compilation of photos above depicts the condition of the blue sky on January 20th, 2024. Although not yet optimal, we need to continue reducing factors that cause air pollution in order to enjoy fresh air every day!
