For the past five years, Nafas has focused on one simple mission: to make air quality data accessible to everyone.

When we started in 2020, air pollution was a silent crisis. Few people knew how bad the air really was, or how deeply it could affect our health. That’s why we began installing outdoor air quality sensors, one by one across Jakarta and other major cities.

Today, those sensors form Indonesia’s largest air quality monitoring network, with over 219 devices across 23 cities.

The data we’ve collected has shaped public awareness, supported academic research, and helped communities, schools, and organizations take real steps toward healthier environments.

But as our impact grew, so did the scope of our work.

From research collaborations with top universities and institutions to public education campaigns and community programs, it became clear that our mission wasn’t just about data anymore, it was about turning data into action.

That’s where Nafas Foundation comes in.

Why Nafas Foundation Exists

Air pollution is one of the biggest health threats in Indonesia, yet still one of the least understood. The data is there, but data alone can’t clean the air. It needs to be transformed into awareness, collaboration, and concrete action.

Nafas Foundation was created to do exactly that: to build bridges between data, science, and society, so that everyone, from parents and teachers to policymakers and companies, can take part in protecting public health.

Through the foundation, we’ll:

  • Continue expanding Indonesia’s outdoor air quality network.
  • Support cross-disciplinary research and publish open data for public and academic use.
  • Run educational programs that make air quality and health easier to understand.

Offer platforms for collaboration and donation, enabling individuals and organizations to sponsor sensors, fund projects, or join initiatives.

From Data to Action

Over the years, we’ve learned that every data point tells a story. When PM2.5 spikes, hospital visits increase.

When schools monitor their air, students breathe better. When offices improve their ventilation, productivity rises.

This is what drives Nafas Foundation — transforming five years of data into meaningful change for millions of people.

Our goal is simple:

  • To make healthy air a right, not a privilege.
  • To make sure every person, family, and community can breathe safely — backed by science, data, and collaboration.

Join the Movement

You can be part of this journey:

  • Donate or Plant a Sensor in your community
  • Collaborate on cross-disciplinary research or CSR projects
  • Support our mission to turn air quality data into real health protection

Because clean air doesn’t just happen, we build it together.
